Pulsating light and rhythm game

Raycatcher is an independently developed rhythm game of sorts. In the full version of the game, you can play using the MP3s of your choice, but in this demo the music is restricted an in game playlist.

You control a circle of colored dots, and your job is to rotate them to catch color corresponding rays of light. These rays are emitted in time to music, although your spinning movements are less likely to be. a new layer is added to your ball as you complete each group, so it gets bigger, and more complex. As well as direct rays of light there are also curve-balls which are harder to predict.

This is definitely a casual game. The controls are really simple, using the mouse, and it takes no time at all to pick it up. If you can't there are tutorials, but it's a color coded game, so it's fairly self explanatory.

This demo is promising, but a little short, and it's really disappointing that you can't play using your own MP3s, as games like this always seem better with music you like. It does look good though!
